Christopher Cartwright, Manager, Marketing Strategy, has been in the financial services industry for over 30 years, working on all aspects of group retirement planning. He is responsible for understanding the evolving needs of plan sponsors and members and identifying effective solutions.
Since 1999, Chris has been closely involved in the work of the Joint Forum of Financial Market Regulators as it pertains to the regulation of CAPs. He was a member of the CAP Committee’s Industry Task Force that helped draft the Guidelines. Throughout the process, he has drawn attention to the Joint Forum’s efforts, examining and clarifying the intent and the implications of the CAP Guidelines. His articles have been published in Benefits Canada, Benefits and Pensions Monitor and in Defined Contributor Monitor. He is also a member of a second Industry Task Force of the Joint Forum, this one dealing with differences in investment rules among pension, insurance and securities regulators.
Chris is currently the Chairman of the Committee on Group Retirement Plans of the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association.
