Primary Focus

A senior subject matter expert of benefit, leave and savings plan administration supporting the effective administration of a broad range of benefits programs and processes within the US and Canada. Provide exceptional customer service.


Canadian and US Benefits Administration:

  • Provide broad and deep technical knowledge to support  daily US & Canadian benefit, leave  and savings administration
  • Demonstrates broad business and technical knowledge in resolving issues, project management, opportunities and a keen awareness of interrelationships with other stakeholders
  • Responsible for providing support, guidance and decision making regarding complex day to day benefits administration 
  • Accurate and timely benefits calculations, including complex, manual calculations
  • Coach other team members on day to day benefit, leave and savings questions and processes
  • Monitor and address benefit administration daily processes to confirm completeness and compliance with all associated legislation, regulations, internal/external audit and SOX  requirements
  • Ensures accurate and timely benefit calculations, daily administration, and accuracy of data for Canadian & US benefit, savings and leave administration
  • Develop, plan and perform open enrolment for US and Canadian clients
  • Responsible to monitor and audit systems, including: system changes, interfaces and reporting 
  • Responsible for operational delivery of the Stellar Recognition Program
  • Responsible for operational delivery of the Higher Education Awards Program
  • Coordinate  benefit, leave and saving escalations and related issues; questions on policies and procedures from  clients at all levels of the organization
  • Assign and complete cases through multiple case management tools
  • Collaborate with other team members within HR
  • Participate in special projects and provide input on company-wide administration of benefit programs

  • 7 + years benefit administration experience in US and Canada
  • HR degree or diploma
  • Employment law experience
  • High degree of accuracy, analytical skills
  • Ability to deal with confidential / sensitive information
  • Ability to build relationships / employee trust
  • Require sound judgement in applying current and changing government legislation to current and future company procedures
  • Must identify and adapt to internal and external changes by researching issues, communicating results and providing assistance
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Conveys facts and information clearly in both written and verbal communication
  • Polite, courteous and respectful in interactions with others
