Working with Richardson opens the door to a world of possibility.  We currently have an opportunity for a Disability Coordinator located in our Winnipeg Head Office.  As a Disability Coordinator, you will support our HR Managers by coordinating and administering employee disability claims and leaves of absence throughout Canada and the U.S.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and administer STD, LTD, and WCB claims to support the HR Managers responsible for claim management
  • Stay abreast of WCB processes across all jurisdictions, as well as the disability and leave of absence insurance provisions and processes across all benefit plans (union and non-union)
  • Communicate with employees and managers on the process for all leaves of absence
  • Monitor and track all leaves of absence and returns to work
  • Notify employees about impact to their pension and benefits when on a leave of absence and collect benefit premiums/pension contributions, as required
  • Administer benefits for retirees; respond to retiree inquiries
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience processing disability claims; experience working with multiple benefits plans/insurance arrangements and administering pension & benefits during all leaves of absence is preferred
  • Post-Secondary education in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field is an asset
  • Experience administering benefits plans and leaves of absence in a sophisticated HRIS system, and experience with third party provider systems, is an asset
  • U.S. benefits experience administering COBRA and FMLA would be considered an asset
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills; strong communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with employees, managers, external providers and retirees
