Are you looking for a new job that is high-paced, engaging and challenging all at the same time?  Our firm is currently looking for an intermediate level Group Benefits Analyst.  We are offering a market competitive compensation and benefits package.  The position is full time, targeted to commencing within the next two months. 

The intermediate Benefits Analyst reports directly to our VP, Business Development.   The successful candidate will work well in a team setting as well as on their own, provides thorough analysis metrics and quality client-ready reports.   The elected candidate will be also be responsible for providing clear analytical support to clients and other members of the team.

Working with a large range of clients in numerous industry sectors, the Benefits Analyst represents a key part of the client management and sales teams.   The Benefits Analyst must provide timely responses to client inquiries, support the consulting team in gathering data for marketings, support the account management team perform financial analysis, and review documentation related to client’s life, disability, extended health, dental care and global programs, as well as be prepared to present renewals to clients.  Travel, including overnights, will be required.

Requirements:

Primary Required Roles and Responsibilities:

Financial Analyst Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret group benefit plan renewals
  • Prepare renewal reports, inclusive of analyst financial commentary
  • Negotiate renewal ratings with insurance providers
  • Deliver and conduct annual group insurance renewal meetings (in person, via email or PowerPoint)
  • Analyze and compare insurance products, services, and contracts
  • Prepare and draft client deliverables for review by consultant
  • Review quarterly analysis of client’s claim’s experience data
  • Design, distribute and evaluate responses to surveys/request for proposals
  • Assist with pricing and summarizing impacts of design alternatives
  • Provide peer review of work completed by team members
  • Provide support for new projects

Client Service and Administration Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage a block of small to mid-size clients, inclusive of day-to-day account management via phone, email and face to face
  • Review plan audits and design for clients within service and renewal block
  • Provide direct day-to-day problem solving support for clients by phone and e-mail
  • Act as the main pivot point of contact during consultant absences
  • Review contracts and compare with employee booklets/update employee booklets
  • Facilitate occasional employee presentations
  • Support internal administration and account management team

Experience and Education:

This role requires a technically strong candidate who has:

  • Post-secondary education and/or related courses in group benefits, CEBS is not required, however would be an asset
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office(particularly Excel), Word and Power Point
  • Exceptional customer focus
  • Ability to thrive and perform under pressure and be able to prioritize workload within in a fast-paced work environment
  • Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities effectively
  • Proven ability to be a dedicated team player, who demonstrates initiative and independence
  • Self-motivating, result-driven personality
  • Friendly and engaging personality
  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team
