Message from the Chair

It is a well-known fact: the Canadian pension and benefits industry has become a fertile ground for research, innovation and philosophical debates in its quest to respond to the unstoppable demographic shift altering the economics of employer-sponsored programs. Undoubtedly, the evolution of the pension and benefits industry will accelerate as the need for solutions is immediate and the business opportunities for market participants are quite substantial. Continued consolidation and the unlimited supply of products are profoundly changing the market dynamics of what was once a relatively predictable Canadian industry.

Guided by our mission to provide our members with high-quality education and networking opportunities, the CPBI Ontario Regional Council is looking forward to offer you an opportunity to learn and share your experiences and ideas.

I would like to extend our gratitude to everyone who attended our sessions and events. Our program is rich because of you. We extend a special thanks to our sponsors who continue to support the Ontario Region and to the many volunteers who helped to build an exciting year.

Martin Leclair, CFA
Chair, CPBI Ontario Region

Putting the ORPP in Perspective
Toronto - October 14, 2015

The Ontario Retirement Pension Plan enrollment is set to start in 2017. Are plan sponsors ready? And what do they think of the new legislation? Their views are decidedly mixed according to new research from Benefits Canada which shows many plan sponsors debating the future of their pension offerings and the benefits of the ORPP to plan members and Ontario savers. Join us for this presentation of Benefits Canada’s research results followed by a panel discussion on the pros and cons of the ORPP.  Attend this important discussion of the impact of ORPP on your business.
Registration details here...

The discussion continues at the CPBI Ontario Regional Conference which will focus on the considerations employers and plan sponsors should examine to be ready for ORPP.
