Working with Richardson opens the door to a world of possibility. We currently have an opportunity for a Pension & Retirement Savings Plan Specialist located in our Winnipeg Head Office. The Pension & Retirement Savings Plan Specialist will be responsible for the communication and administration of the company’s multiple pension and retirement savings plans in Canada and the Unites States. The successful candidate will be someone who considers themselves an expert in the field of pension and retirement savings plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Primary contact for plan members and external administrative service providers on all pension and retirement savings plan matters.
  • Provide information on eligibility, required and voluntary contributions, transfers from other plans, investment options (where applicable), leaves of absence, job changes, marriage/marriage breakdown, employment termination, re-hire, retirement and death benefits, utilizing third party plan administrators as required.
  • Approve new enrollments and contribution changes. Process and/or validate remittance of plan contributions and member data files to various service providers.
  • Maintain plan member communication materials including member booklets, forms, website, educational videos and other print and digital communications.
  • Implement amendments to plan documents to ensure ongoing compliance with pension legislation and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Ensure required regulatory notices and filings are completed on time, and plan expenses are paid.  
  • Conduct regular plan audits including pensioner audits, contribution audits, and eligibility audits.
  • Play a key role in special projects such as servicer provider changes, software implementations and company acquisitions.
Exigences:

Post-secondary education in Business Administration or a related field.
RPA (Retirement Plans Associate) or CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist) designation, or equivalent work experience.
5+ years’ experience working in a similar pension/retirement plan administration role.
Demonstrated ability to manage several pension and/or retirement savings plans and have experience with a Defined Benefit pension plan and a Defined Contribution pension plan.
Experienced and confident professional who can provide professional advice and guidance to others, applying discretion with confidential/sensitive information.
Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
Analytical mind with the ability to think strategically, problem solve, and implement solutions.
Highly developed communication skills and presentation skills.
Prioritizes keeping abreast of current changes in legislation.
Experience administering a U.S. 401k plan is an asset.
Being bilingual (French and English) is an asset.
