Description:

Reporting to the Regional Director, Sales and Service, Western Canada, the successful candidate will be responsible for an assigned block of business and for building effective business relationships with plan administrators and advisors.

Responsibilities:
• retain existing business by ensuring client, advisor, and company needs are met and continually striving to exceed expectations
• assist new business team to ensure new client benefit plans are implemented accurately and efficiently; liaise with head office team throughout implementation process
• provide on-going administrative and client service support to group clients, advisors, and the group sales team, including account executives
• address client questions or issues regarding claims payment and plan administration
• coordinate and review policy documentation for new business and endorsements
• conduct employee meetings to explain benefits programs and our associated services
• provide in-person administration training to client administrators
• participate in finalist presentations
• provide regular onsite service visits and telephone contact to in-force clients
• provide input into product development, administration, and client service
• comply with corporate business objectives, policies, procedures, and practices

Requirements:

Education:
• university degree (preferred)

Experience:
• 3+ years of Group Insurance experience in customer service and/or sales-related environment
• detailed knowledge in all areas of group insurance including: processes, contracts, new business issue, claims, underwriting procedures and guidelines, and billing/administration

• excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of people
• must be able to gain credibility and trust quickly from both internal and external clients so that problems and issues may be resolved to the client’s and the company’s satisfaction
• excellent organisational, planning, and time management skills
• excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• able to work effectively with a diverse team; eager to contribute and implement ideas and suggestions
• ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and solve problems/issues autonomously
• excellent training skills, ability to educate clients and advisors with respect to company systems, products, benefits, processes and procedures
• analytical, thorough and detail-oriented
• self-motivated, takes initiative and assumes ownership in all areas of responsibility

Must be flexible to travel within the province with occasional trips to other provinces. Must have a valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle for regular travel in the Lower Mainland.
