Session description

Benefit plans represent a significant portion of employee costs for plan sponsors. The complexities of design, coordination and administration can be challenging for the seasoned professional, let alone those new to the industry.

CPBI is pleased to present an informative half-day session which will provide an overview of group benefits, including:

• A review of commonly used terms and acronyms
• Overview of government plans in Canada
• Group benefit plan funding and administration
• Plan design basics – from traditional to flex to spending accounts
• Tax implications
• Resources for additional information

The course is designed for those new to the benefits industry working in the fields of Human Resources, Benefits Consulting and Insurance. The course is also valuable for plan administrators and sponsors who want to gain a deeper understanding of group benefits plans.

This half day course is both a time efficient and cost effective introduction to group benefits. It will provide an excellent foundation of knowledge as well as an opportunity to learn and interact with your peers.
