While laws increasinglyt recognize the unique needs of trans citizens, identifying issues and implementing suitabhle soutions within any given workplace remains an ongoing challenge. This presentation seeks to provide an overview of legislation related to trans citizens in Alberta; relevant case law and litigation; as well as systemic issues which continue to present difficulties for trans individuals within the workplace and what employers and employees might do to address such challenges. Jan Lukas Buterman is pursuing his Master`s in Educational Policy Studies at the University of Alberta. His thesis research looks toward the intersections of law, identification and modern information system technologies. Jan holds degrees in Education and History as well as diplomas in Educational Administration and Public Relations.
