Description:

Role Description
The Finance Manager is responsible for the maintenance of all Institute financial information as well as the accounting requirements of National Office and CPBI regions, relations with CPBI vendors and links with financial institutions and government departments. The position reports to the CPBI Executive Director and is located at the National Office in downtown Montreal.

Specific Responsibilities

National Office
• Ensuring all payments are made on time
• Bookkeeping, monthly closure
• Creating financial statements
• Producing budget forecasts
• Managing QST, GST remittance
• Processing monthly payroll via ADP
• Budgeting based on business plan
• Processing membership remittance

Regions
• Bookkeeping
• Verifying GST, QST, PST, HST remittance
• Handling bank information, issues, services
• Producing financial reports

Audit process
• Collecting all information in time for audit
• Preparing reports as per audit checklist
• Overseeing the audit process and provide all needed backup
• Reviewing the audit financial report and provide recommendation
• Attending the finance and audit meeting, follow-up on all decisions and recommendations
• Preparing the call for tender for next year audit

Administration
• Monitoring of CPBI contracts
• Maintenance of staff vacation/sick days reports
• Relations with external vendors
• Monitoring investments (National and Contingency Reserve) and providing monthly updates as well as proposals for action
• Filing of all financial documents
• Work with the Executive Director & other Managers on projects as needed.






Requirements:

Qualifications

The successful candidate will be bilingual and possess a University degree in Business/Accounting and pertinent professional experience; experience liaising directly with external audit firms; and superior communication, interpersonal and organizational skills with a strong ability to resolve issue and work well in a deadline driven environment. Proficiency with MS Office and advanced Excel skills are a must. While the role has a significant element of review, the environment is dynamic and the individual needs to be willing to be hands on.
