Headquartered in Regina, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the support for leave of absence cases and occupational/non-occupational claims within Viterra North America (including all Canadian and US operations). 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing all aspects of leave management and worker’s compensation programs, including general administration, case management, accommodation, return to work and program compliance within related policies and employment legislation. 
  • Collaborating with external vendors to ensure seamless case management for employees and transitions between programs where required.
  • Interpreting and administering leave programs and policies in accordance with the applicable employment laws and collective agreements.  Ensuring that the workers’ compensation program is managed in accordance with applicable provincial/state legislation.
  • Developing, implementing and reviewing processes to ensure compliance with policies, standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Working collaboratively with other areas in HR, managers, and external vendors to ensure that all relevant completed medical documentation is submitted for timely review, to develop strategies for claims resolution and to ensure leave tracking and pay are accurate.
  • Producing report metrics and analytics for all leave cases and workers’ compensation claims and presenting reports as required.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of a corporate wellness program.
Requirements:

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of and experience in disability management, occupational health, workers’ compensation case management, vocational rehab, or related areas, preferably in a unionized environment (any experience working with US case management would be considered a definite asset).
  • Knowledge of applicable provincial/state legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, thorough and detail oriented.
  • Collaborative, professional team player with judgement to handle sensitive situations with tact, diplomacy and high ethical standards.
  • Efficient and able to manage priorities.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Post secondary degree, with three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in Disability Management or a related discipline.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience that result in the required level of knowledge, skill and competence will be considered.
