Summary
- Strategic management of pension plan administration and retirement advisory services.
- Entrepreneurial and creative approach to developing new and innovative delivery of superior member experiences through leading-edge retirement advisory services, administration, education, tools and resources.
- Subject matter expert focused on emerging global/national developments and industry trends.
Key Responsibilities
- Trusted advisor relationship with employers & members on their pension funds and other retirement assets.
- Articulating a compelling long-term vision, leading the development and management of budgets, metrics, strategic and operational plans, risk management, monitoring progress against objectives and Key Performance Indicators.
- Cultivating innovation in the implementation and continual improvement of member services digital strategy and leveraging technology efficiencies.
- Leadership through effective performance management, engaged communications, positive work environment, a learning culture and fostering cross-team alignment.
- Leverage and strengthening relationships with provincial regulators & primary support for regulatory / legal compliance relating to global perspectives, pension industry trends, member service and pension administration.
- Delivery of pioneering member media and communications to employers and employee members through seminars, direct consultations, publications and technology tactics.
Requirements:
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Commerce, Law, Human Resources, Finance, Actuarial Science or a combination of experience, pension and benefit certification(s).
- Certified Financial Planner designation or Chartered Financial Analyst designation or equivalent
- Management certification and/or formal training would be beneficial.
- Highly accountable pension plan management, wealth management, HR pension professional with 8 - 10 years progressive senior experience including five with leadership responsibility.
- Working knowledge of pension legislation and regulatory guidelines.
- Diligent operational agility with strong financial acumen and analytical skills with knowledge of retirement income taxation and actuarial calculations.
- Inspiring, collaborative, entrepreneurial leader that encourages trust-centered teamwork and cooperation and empowers staff to develop ideas, valuing initiative to create a high-performance environment.
- Ability to identify emergent challenges and develop processes and systems to deliver exceptional member service.
- Resourceful, decisive, well organized to assess priorities, with project and change management expertise.
- Executive and authentic presence, relationship builder with strong written, verbal and presentation communications and influencing skills with the ability to understand the needs of diverse external and internal stakeholders.
- Digitally savvy, with a passion for innovation with demonstrated ability to challenge, ask “why”, questions and drive continuous improvement.
