How you will be impactful.
As a Senior Underwriter you will be accountable for providing the financial support and all that it entails for account management. You will work closely with the account executive and the service advisor providing the critical pricing andfinancial impact of plan design management, risk management, renewal and marketings.

Exigences:

What do you need to succeed?
•  In-depth knowledge of group insurance concept and principals and available products in the industry.
•  Advanced knowledge of group insurance financial management and technical arrangements of plan funding and design (insured, refund, hold harmless, ASO, pooling arrangements).
•  Understanding of underwriting processes and profit drivers for group benefits.
•  Ability to write comprehensive report (whether for renewal, marketing, or financial reconciliation) including meaningful descriptions, analysis, and recommendations.
•  Ability to calculate renewal projections and write letters outlining the results, for clients’ budgeting purposes.
•  Ability to prepare pricing for plan design changes and illustrate the financial implications to client.
•  Assist Account Executives with recommendations for improvements in plan designs and help to identify any areas of risk for the client.

•  Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and ability to anticipate broader needs.
•  Strong mathematical skills.
•  Advance users of all Microsoft Office Applications.
•  Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
•  Ability to work exceptional well in a team environment and independently.
•  Have effective time management skills to successfully plan and prioritizing work.
•  Minimum 10 years of combined experience as a Group Benefits Underwriter with a major Canadian insurer and/or a group benefits consulting firm is required.
