The Opportunity

Reporting to Manager, Total Rewards the Total Rewards Analyst is responsible for providing insights, analysis, and administration of SAIT’s total rewards programs, including compensation, benefits, pensions, well-being, and recognition initiatives. This role involves conducting detailed data analysis, benchmarking, and market research to ensure competitive and equitable total rewards offerings.

The Analyst plays a key role in supporting the Total Rewards team with data management, reporting, and process improvements, contributing to the overall employee experience and organizational goals. The ideal candidate will be detailed-oriented, have strong analytical skills, experience with EDI analysis, and the ability to forecast trends and provide critical insights to drive informed decision-making.

The Role

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to compensation, pension, benefits, and total rewards programs.
  • Maintain HRIS data integrity by conducting audits, ensuring accuracy and consistency, and assisting with system updates and configuration improvements.
  • Prepare and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics related to total rewards.
  • Ensure accurate data management and financial reconciliations by auditing pension, benefits, payroll, and vendor systems.
  • Complete and submit legislated compliance reporting to governing bodies for compensation and benefit programs.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations, highlighting key findings, trends, and historical patterns to predict future needs.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within total rewards programs to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and best practices.

Benchmarking & Market Analysis

  • Conduct benchmarking studies and market analysis to ensure SAIT’s total rewards offerings are competitive and aligned with industry standards.
  • Analyze market trends and best practices to provide recommendations for enhancements to total rewards programs.
  • Support the development and implementation of strategies to promote equity and inclusiveness in compensation and benefits.
  • Provide analytical support with employee classifications. 

Program Support & Administration

  • Assist in the administration of compensation programs, including job evaluation, grading structures, and compliance reporting. Ensure accurate data management and participate in audits and reviews to maintain data integrity.
  • Support benefits administration including maintaining employee benefits records and processing changes, enrollments, and annual renewals. Reconcile and audit benefits data, respond to employee inquiries, and ensure timely resolution of vendor related issues.
  • Support the management of employee leave programs, including short-term and long-term disability, parental leave, and lifecycle events such as employee death. Process and manage various types of employee leaves, update leave balances, notify vendors of benefit continuance for employees on leave, and create and distribute leave packages, calculating benefit prepayments as needed.
  • Assist in the management of pension programs, and group savings programs. Reconcile pension accruals and adjustments, prepare termination and retirement packages, perform membership reconciliations, and assist employees with pension inquiries throughout their employment lifecycle.
  • Assist in ensuring service delivery meets organizational standards and contractual obligations. Support relationships with external vendors, including participation in client meetings and consultant data review sessions.
  • Support audits and reviews of total rewards programs to ensure governance and data integrity.

Communications

  • Respond to employee questions and inquiries in a ticketing system, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
  • Create standardized responses for common, entry-level questions to streamline the communication process.
  • Provide feedback on communication needs and contribute to the development of new communication materials to enhance employee understanding and engagement with total rewards programs.
  • Ability to clearly convey information, ideas, and policies to a variety of audiences, including employees, management, and external vendors
Exigences:

Qualifications & Experience

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in human resources, business administration, finance, actuarial science, or a related field
  • 3 - 5 years of experience administrating total reward programs, including compensation, benefits and pensions 
  • Experience with HRIS/HR system support
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, with demonstrated ability to produce high-quality, user-friendly reports, planning worksheets, and data analytics.
  • Experience in administrating pension plans and compensation practices, including compliance reporting requirements
  • Proven ability to conduct quick research, analytics and provide solutions on multiple competing tasks and priorities in a very fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated experience in enhancing customer experience by providing exceptional service and support to employees

Preferred

  • Experience in a unionized environment
  • CPHR, CCP and/or CEBS designation (or currently enrolled)
