This means that the surface area that requires protection has grown exponentially. As a fiduciary how do you determine your fund's full exposure and what do you do about it?

Dans le contexte découlant de la pandémie de COVID-19, trois mesures d'assouplissement temporaires sont mises en place afin de venir en aide aux administrateurs de régimes complémentaires de retraite et aux participants de ces régimes. Les mesures proposées sont : la prolongation des délais de certaines obligations réglementaires et législatives, la mise à jour du degré de solvabilité à prendre en compte pour les acquittements (transferts et remboursements) dans un régime de retraite à prestations déterminées ainsi que l’assouplissement des règles de décaissement des sommes immobilisées.

Should Benefit Plans Pay for Pharmacogenomic Testing? (Séance en anglais)

Pharmacogenomics is an exciting new branch of genetic testing that examines the impact of individual’s genetic makeup on how they metabolize drugs. Its aims are to predict how well an individual may respond to drug therapy, help customize treatment and ultimately optimize health outcomes. Many claims have been made about the ways in which pharmacogenomics could revolutionize drug therapy regimens yet very little unbiased evidence exists about its impact on patient outcomes. Green Shield Canada, working with partner community pharmacies in Toronto launched a randomized, controlled clinical trial in 2018 to examine the impact of pharmacogenomics on patient health outcomes. This research will provide unbiased, concrete evidence on the value and impact of pharmacogenomics on patient health outcomes.

This session will feature the following topics:

- Overview of major test vendors and their offerings

- Overview of the science behind pharmacogenomics testing and how it may impact patient outcomes

- Results of GSC’s large scale clinical trial evaluating pharmacogenomics testing impacts

Protéger les fonds de pension de la cybermenace en évolution

Au fil des années, les fonds de pension ont beaucoup évolué; ils s’appuient maintenant sur la technologie pour gérer ainsi que pour exécuter leurs opérations. Ainsi, le gestionnaire de fonds reçoit plus rapidement les rapports des employeurs et les employés participent aux activités relatives à leur fonds en effectuant des modifications à leur compte (par exemple : changements d’adresse, de bénéficiaire, du compte bancaire pour le dépôt de leur rente), grâce au libre-service. En dépit du contexte actuel, où tout se fait à distance en raison de la pandémie de COVID-19, les services infonuagiques facilitent la poursuite des opérations dans les fonds de pension. En conséquence, le nombre de systèmes informatiques nécessitant une protection contre une potentielle cyberattaque a augmenté de façon exponentielle. En tant que fiduciaire, comment évaluez-vous l’exposition totale de votre fonds? Que faites-vous pour y remédier?

Au cours de sa présentation, Vincent vous expliquera comment les gestionnaires de fonds de pension devraient aborder la tâche de déterminer les risques dans les diverses sphères d’opérations relatives aux fonds (incluant la prestation des services aux participants ainsi qu’aux employeurs), la protection des investissements et des informations financières ainsi que la sécurisation des communications confidentielles avec les fiduciaires.
