Improving Retirement Income Security from CPP to PRPPs

From the agreement by federal, provincial and territorial finance ministers to enhance the Canada Pension Plan (CPP) to the multilateral agreement on pooled registered pension plans (PRPPs), it was a busy summer for improvements to retirement income for Nova Scotians. PRPPs are now available in Nova Scotia and legislation to implement enhancements to CPP are expected in the Fall.
The Nova Scotia Department of Finance and Treasury Board has been engaged in discussions on retirement income including CPP and PRPPs. Minister Delorey will provide an update on the upcoming changes as well as his insights into the Province’s approach to the challenges of retirement income security.
