The Decumulation Dilemma

Decumulation is a complex problem - arguably harder than accumulation where plan members have a common goal: save and invest for retirement. Once in the decumulation phase, individual needs, wants, and situations vary by each plan member. At the core of solving the decumulation dilemma is an investment vehicle with the highest risk adjusted returns.

Nicole Lomax, CFA

Vice President,Portfolio Manager, Institutional Asset Allocation, TD Asset Management Inc.

Nicole is a Portfolio Manager on the Institutional Asset Allocation Team, and is accountable for designing strategic asset mix, fund selection, tactical asset allocation and rebalancing within active balanced, target date and custom fund-of-fund solutions for institutional investors. She has previous experience within the company as a Client Portfolio Manager for TD Greystone fixed income and multi-asset strategies, as a Manager of Marketing Intelligence and Analytics and as an Analyst working on product development and initiatives targeted to defined contribution plans. Nicole holds a B. Math. with Honours in Financial Analysis & Risk Management from the University of Waterloo.

Jeff Chan

Jeff is the AVP of Chronic Disease Management an ePharmacy at Sun Life and has worked in the digital health space for the last 5 years. Jeff’s mandate is focused on improving health outcomes for members and Canadians at large. Having launched Sun Life’s ePharmacy solution and having built the first chronic disease management journeys in diabetes and respiratory, Jeff is well-versed in developing offerings that aim to improve health outcomes.

 

Bio:

Alexandra Smith

Alex is the Director of ePharmacy at Sun Life and has worked in the digital health space for the last 7 years. Having launched one of the early ePharmacies in Canada, she has in-depth knowledge of ePharmacies from a technology and clinical perspective and has experienced firsthand how the digital model has been changing the status quo as it relates to accessing care in Canada.
