Overview
Many CAPs were established as a competitive benefit that supported employees in saving for their retirement. But for most CAP sponsors, little, if any, thought has been given to what happens when employees are ready to retire from the organization.
As the first wave of boomers begins to transition from working to retirement, they’ve opened the door to a host of questions about the great unknown: decumulation. Employers need to consider what role, if any, they want to take in helping employees successfully transition their lifetime savings into income.
The newly released CAPSA Guideline No. 8 provides some direction for plan sponsors, but confusion on options, roles and a quickly evolving marketplace leave many sponsors and members wondering what to do.
Join us for this webinar where Janice Holman, Principal at Eckler will review:
- Decumulation and the plan sponsor: what your requirements are, the risks associated with employees transitioning to retirement, the decision on the level of support to provide, and the impact these decisions have on employees’ ability to leave the organization
- Decumulation and the plan member: what members understand about decumulation, how they are making decisions, and the impact of those decisions on you as a plan sponsor and for the member
- The future direction of decumulation and how that impacts you as a CAP sponsor
