Theatre Under the Stars – VIP EventAugust 8, 2012 7:00 PM to 10:30 PM610 Pipeline Rd, Stanley Park, Malkin Bowl, Vancouver, British Columbia Format: In PersonCPBI Pacific is pleased to host a social VIP evening of Theatre Under the Stars. As a member of CPBI, your ticket purchase provides discounted entry to the beloved Broadway classic The Music Man, a pre-show reception with appetizers and a cash bar in the private CPBI tent, and plenty of fun with your CPBI friends! Come on out and feel free to bring a guest. With this VIP Event – we’ll enjoy the best seats in Malkin Bowl. Theatre Under The Stars offers a unique open-air experience that allows you to watch live theatre under the night sky (in the unlikely event of an August shower, rain ponchos are provided). The Music Man is a Broadway classic: the story of a charming con man Harold Hill, who sets out to scam the townspeople of River City, Iowa by posing as a marching band organizer who will keep their kids out of trouble if they give him money for instruments and uniforms. Unexpectedly, Harold meets his match in prim Marion the librarian...but the course of true love (and deception) never did run smooth, and hilarity ensues, accompanied by a succession of timeless songs, from "Ya Got Trouble" and "Seventy-Six Trombones" to "Gary Indiana" and "Till There Was You" (all from the pen of Meredith Willson). Like TITANIC (the other Musical TUTS is presenting this year), The Music Man is set exactly one hundred years ago in 1912; also like Titanic, it won five Tony Awards during its first Broadway run (50 years ago), including Best Musical. TUTS is excited to bring this delightful, memorable show to Stanley Park this summer. The show will start at 8:00PM. If you are inviting a guest, please use the spouse pricing.
