Want to explore on your own here are some tips from local CPBI members!

  1. Stanley park is easily accessible via bike, rollerblade, walking, running, bus, horse carriage, etc. Certainly a highlight of the city and close to the hotel.
  2. Granville Island: also very close to the hotel this is a must see for all tourists. Everything from fresh market, local arts and crafts, smoked salmon, restaurants with views and their own Granville Island brewery. An easy cab ride from the hotel for sure
  3. Grouse Grind or Grouse Mountain: For those more into adventure hiking, there is a challenging but rewarding hike up a mountain that can end with a beer on top. Accessible by bus, cab or car. Its free to do and $10 for the ride back down the gondola. Also on top of the mountain are our very own grizzly bears that live up there. For those who don’t want to hike its around $50 for a round trip gondola ride up.
  4. Lynn Valley Suspension Bridge: Accessible by car and is free. Not as touristy as Capilano suspension bridge but key word, FREE and you can do some easy hikes along the way
  5. Other notes of interest: Kelownais wine country and is only 5 hours by car away. Amazing wines, orchards, lake views and a quick drive in the mountains to get there
  6. Whistler can do done on a day trip but make sure you go early and make sure to go up to the peak especially with the newly build suspension bridge at the top. Also take the peak to peak gondola which is one of the largest gondola rides in North America
  7. Local brewery tours. Vancouver is known for their craft breweries and more and more keep popping up. Officially there’s a company that can do the tour for you but there’s also FREE walking tour I can suggest and recommend: Vancouver Brewery tour
  8. Dining options everywhere. Sushi is a must.
  9. Shared bikes: Vancouver recently created a share bike program and bikes can be found all around the downtown core if people want to rent one out for a couple of hours and explore the city. https://www.mobibikes.ca/
  10. Whale watching: Just south of the airport, there’s a place called Steveston and there’s a outfitter out there that does whale watching see here
