Employer Health Groups: How Can They Work, What Can They Achieve?

Wendy Poirier, Health and Group Benefits Canada

CPBI FORUM 2011, May 20, 2011
Employer health groups (also known as coalitions, collaboratives, etc) are a very new phenomenon for Canadian employers. They are driven by continued frustrations over rising health insurance costs, possible opportunities to obtain lower prescription drug costs as recommended in the Competition Bureau Reports 2007-8 on generic drugs and by some provincial governments' actions to control drug costs.
