Blockchain is a potentially transformative technology that could have broad application, Blockchain has significant potential to drive lower costs, faster processing, higher efficiency and increased transparency across industries from banks to governments, to pension funds. Hear how Blockchain technology can provide a cost-effective solution for Securities settlement/loan trading, Smart contracts and Identity management.

Arijit Das 

Senior Vice President - Automation, Architecture and Innovation - Shared Services, Northern Trust

Arijit Das has multiple responsibilities within Northern Trust’s Technology organization, including Shared Services Architecture; Blockchain development, where he led the development of the world’s first blockchain based private equity application and co-inventor on four patents related to blockchain technology. Mr. Das is also responsible for Emerging technologies including Artificial Intelligence, Digital Automation and RPA.


Arijit has more than 25 years of experience in the financial industry. Prior to joining Northern Trust, he has worked at US Bank, JPMorgan Chase and Bank of Montreal, managing both development and infrastructure teams. Mr. Das holds a MS degree in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology.

Krista Sacrey

Principal, Eckler 

Krista partners with organizations across Canada to bring integrated technology solutions that enhance the design and delivery of their pension and benefits plans. With more than 15 years of experience, Krista brings a deep understanding of the science and the art that enables plan sponsors to fulfill their fiduciary obligations while supporting a relevant, educational and highly authentic plan member experience.

A native of Atlantic Canada, Krista joined Eckler in 1999 and has been a qualified Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries since 2011. She is a Principal in Eckler’s Pension and Benefits Technology Solutions Practice.



Jens Hembach

Assistant Vice President, Operations Excellence and Innovation, CIBC Mellon.

Jens is responsible for executing improvement initiatives in productivity, risk management, and the client and employee experience. With a passion for innovation and change, Jens has delivered improvements within operational roles in client service delivery and, as an internal partner, within various organizational business lines.

In addition to having over 15 years of experience delivering improvements, Jens earned a bachelor of arts degree in applied economics from Queen's University, as well as Black Belt certification in Lean Six Sigma.
