OPENING SPEAKER

Markets, industries, and companies around the world have been bracing for potentially more turbulent times as the global economy continues the elevated interest rate environment of 2023.

How have the events of the last two years affected the Canadian economy & financial markets, and what can we expect going forward?

We will discuss the trends and events shaping the Canadian economy, such as housing market trends, the labour market & immigration, interest rates & inflation, as well as the likelihood of a recession.

PANEL

Our panel will discuss a wide range of topical issues in real estate including how both real estate equity and mortgage investments fit within institutional portfolios.  We’ll cover outlooks for various real estate types including the impact of work from home on office, the impact of housing affordability on multi-residential as well as changes in industrial and retail.  No discussion of real estate would be complete without also covering climate resilience and decarbonization of the sector.
