Navigating Cybersecurity Challenges and Defenses

September 12, 2024 12:00 PM to 1:15 PMOnline Pacific Time
Area of Interest: Pensions, Benefits, Investments Format: Web

An online seminar hosted by CPBI Pacific

We are excited to bring you a 2 part webinar:

Part 1: Beyond Technology: Unveiling Human Behavior in Cybersecurity and Social Engineering

Cybersecurity attacks are a hot topic, but the things that make the news are the technology failures. Technology is just one aspect of cybersecurity, and accounts for a minority of security breaches. According to the 2024 Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report, Almost 70% of security breaches involved the human element, and this number has not significantly changed from the previous year.

Roger Gale will present the principles of persuasion and communication techniques used by hackers to motivate victims to perform some action that they would not normally perform. By becoming informed on how attackers use information to influence our behaviour, we can learn how to detect manipulation attempts and reduce the likelihood that we will fall victim to a social engineering attack.

Part 2: Data Breach Live! - Hacking Techniques & How Cyber Insurance Can Provide the Last Line of Defense

In this presentation, Derek will explore some of the main hacking techniques threat actors use to compromise our systems and information. He will also review risk management best practices, Cyber claim statistics, and the coverages included in a robust Cyber policy.
