An Online Seminar Hosted by CPBI Saskatchewan

The Schizophrenia Society of Saskatchewan’s Partnership Program will share stories of recovery from mental illness. Two speakers will share their lived experience with mental illness including an in-depth look at their mental health journey and what recovery is like for them. These experiences will be followed by a mental health advocate who will share information on common stigmas, an overview of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and depression, and lastly, information on resources and how to access them. 

Learning Objectives: 

In this session, you will...

1) Gain a deeper appreciation for and understanding of people with mental illness.

2) Obtain a general understanding of what schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and depression are.

3) Gather knowledge about different kinds of stigma, common misconceptions about mental illness, and what you can do to help.

4) Learn about a number of mental health resources and how to access them.

  

Target Audience:

Everyone from general staff to board members and everyone in between should attend this session. One in five Canadians live with a mental illness, so there is a very high chance that everyone has been affected directly or indirectly. This session provides a unique contact-based learning experience for all.

Access Information:  Access information will be sent to all registrants one day in advance of the online session. Please plan to log in 10 minutes prior to the start of the session. This session will be recorded and available to registrants until noon on October 29, 2020.

  

CE Credit:  This session qualifies for 1 Continuing Education credit for the Insurance Council of Saskatchewan (one credit per hour). You will be required to complete a short quiz at the end of the online session to qualify for continuing education credits.
