With the close of 2015, this session will review some of the more significant trends, events and/or stories shaping the employee benefits world over the last 12 months. Benefit plan costs continue to increase, risks are evolving, the needs/wants/expectations of both employees and employers are changing and the broader economic/political environment in Canada – and Alberta in particular – is very much different. How have these trends/events/stories influenced benefit plan design and funding decisions in 2015? And how has the insurance marketplace responded? And what does 2016 and beyond look like?
