Are you an accomplished actuarial professional looking for an exciting leadership opportunity? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Partner to join our actuarial practice within Retirement Consulting. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving business growth, managing client relationships, providing strategic actuarial expertise, and fostering positive team engagement. Your role will involve cultivating strong partnerships with clients, leading business development initiatives, delivering high-level actuarial consulting services, and fostering a collaborative team environment within the DB pension space. With your exceptional leadership skills, industry knowledge, and business acumen, you will play a pivotal role in shaping TELUS Health’s success and positioning us as a leader in the market. What you’ll do…  

  • Client Relationship Management: as a trusted advisor, responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with clients; understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions. 
  • Business Development: play a crucial role in driving business growth for Retirement Consulting by identifying new business opportunities with existing and new clients positioning TELUS Health as a leader in the market.
  • Strategic Consulting: provide strategic consulting services to clients by helping them design and manage retirement plans, assess plan funding and risk, develop investment strategies, and navigate regulatory compliance requirements, offering insights and recommendations based on your deep understanding of actuarial principles, financial markets, and industry trends. 
  • Team Leadership: lead team engagement by providing mentorship, guidance and technical expertise to team members, fostering their professional development. Ensure effective teamwork, collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Requirements:

You have

  • 15+ years of experience in pension plan consulting
  • Professional actuarial designation such as FCIA, ASA or FSA
  • Strong client relationship management, up to C-suite, based on trusted advisor model
  • Solid understanding of actuarial principles, financial markets, and industry developments and emerging trends
  • Ability to identify new business opportunities, drive revenue growth, and meet budget and profitability targets  
  • Proven leadership and mentorship to team members, ensuring high-quality deliverables while fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment

What you bring

  • Ability to understand client needs, provide strategic guidance, and ensure client satisfaction
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a deep understanding of mathematical models and statistical analysis
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex actuarial concepts to clients and stakeholders
  • Continuous learning and staying updated with the latest developments in actuarial science and industry trends
