What the Heck Happened?
A mid-year review of the economy and capital markets after the Trump effect
“There are numerous key economic indicators screaming SELL.” “We have a looming currency crisis.” “Investors are on the Titanic”. “U.S. stocks are now about 80% overvalued.”
These were a few of the quotes from global economists as we moved into 2017 and were poised to welcome a new administration in the US. As we now know, the fears of a global meltdown seem to have been overplayed. In fact, the markets and consumer confidence both jumped in the first part of the year.
Join us as Sébastien looks back at some of the headlines, and presents an overview of the current economic background and the markets. With the Trump administration now settled in, what will be the impact of the Trump administration on Canada and the world over the next few years?
Sébastien will provide an outlook on how to navigate through the evolving economic landscape.
