But his career in pensions, benefits and compensation has proved a close second. Over the past 20+ years, Brent has managed to fuse a passion for communicating and storytelling with the ever-evolving and intriguing realm of total rewards. | | | Dylan Snowdon, Lawyer, Associate Carbert Waite LLP Dylan obtained his LL.B. in 2009 and joined Carbert Waite in 2016 after practicing with a major national law firm. He received his bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the Alberta College of Art and Design, his LL.B. from the University of Alberta and his Certificate in Pension Law from Osgoode Hall Law School. | Dylan’s primary area of practice is employment law. He also represents plaintiffs and defendants in general commercial and civil litigation matters.
Since 2013, Dylan has been a regular guest lecturer at the University of Calgary Faculty of Law on the topic of employment law. He regularly speaks at conferences and seminars and has provided training on a variety of employment matters, including wrongful dismissals, privacy, disability management, drug and alcohol issues, and employment standards. He has worked for the Alberta Municipal Government Board and now volunteers as a member of the City of Calgary Licence and Community Standards Appeal Board where he adjudicates City Bylaws matters. | | Lauren Barteluk, Lawyer, Associate Carbert Waite LLP Lauren obtained her J.D. from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University in 2011. She also received a B.Sc. in Earth Sciences from the University of Calgary in 2008. Lauren commenced her legal career with a firm in Halifax and was called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2012. She continued to practice in Halifax until she joined Carbert Waite LLP as an associate in 2014. | Lauren’s current practice is in general civil litigation, with a focus on employment, human rights, and health law.
Lauren has appeared before the Federal Court of Appeal and all levels of courts in Alberta, as well as before the courts in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia. She has represented clients in collective bargaining, before labour boards, and at arbitrations, conciliations, and mediations. Lauren also has experience in matters related to labour law, professional regulations, administrative law, and pension/benefits law. |
